RAGE
AGAINST
THE MACHINE
At the beginning of November 2019 it was announced that the band would perform with the reunited original line-up from March 2020. The first dates mentioned were El Paso, Texas, on March 26, 2020 and two days later Las Cruces, New Mexico. The band was scheduled to headline the 2020 Coachella Valley Festival. In Europe, the band was announced as a headliner at the “Lollapalooza” festival, among others. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tour was initially canceled on March 13, 2020. The tour was not rescheduled in 2021 either and began in July 2022. On January 15, 2021, the band released the 15-minute documentary Killing in Thy Name together with the artist collective The Ummah Chroma. In the film, a teacher tells a group of white teenagers about the emergence of white supremacy ideology. The film contains many quotes from historical figures and band members as well as a literature list as a “starting point”. The reading list was also published by The Ummah Chroma. Singer Zack de la Rocha injured his Achilles tendon during the second concert in Chicago on the long-awaited reunion tour and played the remaining 16 concerts of the first tour block sitting down. Subsequently, due to the injury, the second North American tour block as well as all announced concerts in Europe were canceled. On January 4, 2024, Brad Wilk, the band's drummer, published a statement on his own Instagram profile, which ruled out further concerts by the band in the future and that he would personally regret this very much.
